After more than 42 years of faithful service, Mt. Lebanon’s Associate Executive Director Ronney Nanney has announced his retirement effective March 31. 

Ronney’s impact on Mt. Lebanon is truly immeasurable. His first footprints on the property came as a young boy visiting with his mother who was GA (girls missions) director planning activities at the camp for associational churches. Seasons during his childhood and teenage years were filled with RA (boys missions) events and summer camp at Mt. Lebanon.

In the early ’80s Ronney became a summer staffer and intern before taking on full-time duties as director of recreation following graduation from college. He later managed operations and held a variety of other roles that spanned 5 decades.

Without a doubt Ronney has left an indelible mark upon the camp, ensuring that his legacy will endure for generations.

In April we will be hosting a senior adult luncheon featuring a delicious meal and gospel music from the award-winning group SpokenFor. Mt. Lebanon’s Executive Director Ed Walker will host the event and share a little about the camp through the years and plans for the future.

The beauty of the camp will be springing back to life, and this event will be a great opportunity for groups and individuals to fellowship and enjoy a brief trip down memory lane at camp. Register today and spread the word!

• With a growing staff–and an aging office–we are making some much needed repairs and improvements. Lodges and bunkhouses are also in need of renovation.
• To steward 520 acres of urban forest and manicured grounds, we need the right equipment. We are hoping to purchase two zero-turn lawnmowers, a tractor/loader, and two ATV carts for our physical operations team. 
• A 14,000-sf pavilion is needed to replace a very old, much smaller one in the middle of camp that is on its last legs. This would be a great legacy project to name in honor of someone special. Contact us for details.

Other prayer concerns:

• With rapid growth we still need others to join the ministry here. Beyond just a job, camp ministry is a calling, so pray God would send those who are called to serve. We need a director of new construction and team members in physical operations, clerical, programming, and housekeeping and food service.
• The camp is committing a portion of its resources to be involved in camping ministries around the world. We need wisdom and discernment as we prioritize evangelism and missions. 
• Please also pray for guidance as we consider long-term plans and seek to steward this special place well.
